These terms apply to everyone who uses the Southern Ontario Firefighters Hockey League ("SOFFHL") website, registers a team or player, or pays league or tournament fees. By creating an account or submitting a registration you agree to them.
Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Team managers are responsible for the accuracy of their roster. Accounts may be suspended for false information, misuse of the platform, or conduct violations.
Eligibility
Play is limited to eligible active and retired firefighters and other participants approved by the SOFFHL executive. Registration is not confirmed until it is reviewed and approved by league staff.
Fees, deposits and refunds
- Team and player fees are set each season and tournament and are shown before you register.
- A registration is confirmed once the required deposit is received. Spots are not held on an unpaid registration.
- Balances are due by the due date shown on the invoice. Unpaid accounts may lose eligibility.
- Deposits are non-refundable once a schedule has been built. Refunds of remaining balances are at the discretion of the executive.
- All amounts are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise.
Waivers and assumption of risk
Hockey carries an inherent risk of injury. Every participant must complete the SOFFHL player waiver, and every team must complete the team waiver, before taking the ice. Digital signatures submitted through this site have the same effect as a signed paper form. Participants are responsible for their own insurance and equipment.
Conduct
Participants must follow the league rules, arena rules and the code of conduct. Abuse of officials, staff, arena employees or other participants, and any harassment or discrimination, may result in suspension or removal without refund.
Content and media
Photos, scores, statistics and news published on this site may be used by SOFFHL for league promotion. Do not copy, scrape or republish site content, rosters or contact information without written permission.
Schedules and changes
Schedules, venues, divisions and formats may change due to ice availability, weather or entry counts. Published scores become official once reviewed by league staff; corrections are recorded in our audit history.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOFFHL, its executive and volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from participation or use of this site. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
